About this tool

Income tax in Turkey is calculated on a progressive (bracketed) schedule: as the base rises, higher slices are taxed at higher rates. In 2026, for non-wage income the brackets are 15% (up to ₺190,000), 20% (up to ₺400,000), 27% (up to ₺1,000,000), 35% (up to ₺5,300,000) and 40% above that.

Crucially, entering a higher bracket does not tax all your income at that rate. Each bracket applies only to the slice within its range; the ratio of total tax to base — the "effective rate" — is shown separately in the tool. That is the best measure of your actual average tax burden.

This tool estimates non-wage income tax (business, rental, self-employment income, etc.) on an annual base. For wage income the third bracket threshold differs (₺1,500,000) and the minimum-wage exemption applies. Work with your accountant for the return, deductions and exemptions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the 2026 income tax brackets?
For non-wage income in 2026: 15% up to ₺190,000, 20% up to ₺400,000, 27% up to ₺1,000,000, 35% up to ₺5,300,000, and 40% above.
Does moving into a higher bracket tax all my income at that rate?
No. Each rate applies only to the slice within its range. For example, only the portion above ₺190,000 is taxed at the next rate; lower slices keep their own rates. The average burden is measured by the effective rate.
What is the effective tax rate?
The effective rate is total income tax divided by the base. It is always lower than the top (marginal) bracket rate and reflects your true average tax burden.
